Bitcoin for Charity ("we," "us") operates bitcoinforcharity.org. We keep this simple because our data practices are simple: we run a static informational website with a daily news section, and we collect as little as possible.
Contact form. If you use our contact form, the name, email address, and message you provide are delivered to us by Formspree, our form processor, so we can respond to you. We do not add you to any mailing list.
News pages. Our daily briefing pages count page views in aggregate (including whether a visit arrived from a social link) to understand which articles resonate. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or analytics profiles for this.
Server logs. Like nearly every website, our web server automatically records standard technical logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps) for security and troubleshooting. These are routinely rotated and deleted.
Bitcoin donations occur directly on the Bitcoin blockchain, which is public by design; we receive no personal information about you from an on-chain donation. Card, PayPal, and Venmo donations are processed entirely by PayPal under PayPal's privacy policy; we never see or store your payment details.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information. We do not run ads. We do not build profiles of visitors. Third-party services we rely on (Formspree, PayPal, Facebook for our page presence, and content delivery networks for fonts and icons) process data under their own privacy policies.
To request deletion of anything you've sent us (such as contact form messages), or to ask what information we hold about you, send us a message through our contact form and start your message with "Data request." We'll respond within 30 days. Note that Bitcoin blockchain transactions are permanent by nature and cannot be deleted by anyone, including us.
Our site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date above. Questions? Contact us.
